This year the Anti- Bullying Week theme is “Choose Respect”. We have discussed how we can respect each other and ourselves.
We have produced Acrostic poems about anti bullying and agreed on a ZERO TOLERANCE pledge at our school.
Our odd socks day represented how we are all unique but all respected.
The children have learnt about the Hindu ceremony Raksha Bandhan. They pretended to be brothers and sisters and act out how it is celebrated.
This week our Year 1 children have produced some fantastic animal diaries! They all worked really hard on these after reading the book “Diary of a Wombat”
A fantastic way to start our morning with a visit from local author Helen Aldcroft.
The children had the opportunity to ask questions and learn about her writing process. We were even treated to Helen reading a chosen chapter of her book to us.
A huge thank you to Helen for such an inspiring morning.
Today we held a Mock Election at Farrowdale. The Year 5/6 formed 4 opposing political parties and campaigned to their fellow pupils. Each pupil then had the opportunity to use a ballot paper to have their vote. The Farrow Party received the majority of votes with their policies on Education, The Environment and Health.
Congratulations to Jasper from our Year 6 class for continuing his position as the U12’s Goalkeeper for Burnley Academy. Jaspers contract has been extended for the 2024/2025 season.
Well done Jasper, we are very proud of you.
The children and staff at Farrowdale had a fun filled trip to Gulliver’s World last week.
What a wonderful pirate day our Early Years had on Friday! The children decorated biscuits, completed a treasure hunt, ate lots of yummy pirate food, played games, got a tattoo and did lots of dancing!
